After some time without updating the blog due to some projects and work reasons, now I return to continuing posting!! These days I’ve been working to migrate this blog to a VPS. As yet this blog was hosted in a free plain in wordpress, the main reason to do the migration was because I wanted to have more customization in my site, and benefit the use of a VPS to host some projects that I have in mind. First I look the price plan on linode the basic plan with 19.95 $ /month : 512MB RAM, 4 CPU cores and 2TB of transfer, but next one friend explain me about digitalocean only 5$ /Month : 512 MB RAM, 1 CPU core, 1 TB of transfer and 20 GB of disk with SSD. With 1 TB of traffic is enough for me and the space some limited but with the advantages of the performance of the SSD.

I tested the server for a week and I can say the performance of the server is good and of the SSD, very important for server with limited RAM when begin to use the SWAP.  I’ve one of a test benchmark with the CPU, RAM and disk performance:

bench-vps

ioping

You can see the latency time is very low. The server is running Debian Squeeze and virtualized using KVM and the web server running is Nginx with PHP-FPM and MySQL.
